Prologis Announces 23,700 Square Metre Speculative Development at Prologis Park Bratislava
- Nearly 40 Percent Pre-Leased by Geis Group - Prologis, Inc., the global leader in industrial real estate, today announced it will commence construction of a 23,700 square metre development at Prologis Park Bratislava.
The facility, which will be completed by the end of the year, is nearly 40 percent preleased by Geis Group, one of the foremost providers of complex transport and high-quality logistic services in the Czech-Slovak territory. Geis will relocate from a brownfield location in Bratislava to the new, modern cross-dock logistics facility DC7B in Prologis Park Bratislava, which is located alongside the first exit of the D1 motorway, 24 kilometres east of Bratislava city centre and 2 kilometres from Senec.
Upon completion of DC7B, the park will total 232,000 square meters. This follows the recent completion of a 24,500 square metre speculative facility DC7A which is now 100 percent leased following the leasing of 4,600 square metres in May to DB Schenker, a wholly owned subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn AG.
"We are very pleased to start the new facility in Prologis Park Bratislava," says Ben Bannatyne, Prologis Regional Head for Central & Eastern Europe. "The pre-leasing activity is a testament to the location of Prologis Park Bratislava to the Bratislava market as well as the entire Slovak region."
Prologis is the leading provider of industrial real estate in Slovakia with three parks providing 430,000 square metres of distribution space in Bratislava (Senec), Galanta (Gan) and Nove Mesto as of 31 March , 2014.
